The past year, we have delved into the history and development of "community centers" in Amsterdam, particularly in Amsterdam Noord. We’ve spoken with users, managers, and others about what a "community center" is and what it could become in the future.
Now, we are beginning to design the exhibition where we will share and further discuss these findings. For example, we’re exploring the differences between a community center, neighborhood room, neighborhood house, creative hub, social hub, community building, and mini-economy.
The exhibition is part of a design-driven research project on the future of the "Collective Architecture" It will travel for a year to various community centers in Amsterdam Noord. Workshops will be held where participants learn how to design as part of a team and help shape the conclusions of the exhibition.
